Castlewood Canyon announces a new 2021 Volunteer Opportunity!
Spring is just around the corner and after a long winter there are many park visitors anxious for some trail time and hiking. The same is true for individuals with disabilities.

Wheelchairs on trails are becoming a common occurrence and here at Castlewood Canyon we want to support a safe and fun experience for all disabled individuals. A new volunteer team is being formed with the goal to understand our natural trails from an ADA perspective and produce a visitor trail guide. We will be joined by Leslie Terry, a new Castlewood Volunteer. Leslie knows first hand the challenges of being in a wheelchair and still enjoying the outdoors.

Volunteers should be prepared to walk the Canyon Point Trail with Leslie, Bob Powers and Susan Williams. It is important to be ready for sudden changes in weather. We will be taking notes, measurements of the trail and lots of pictures!

Meet at Canyon Point parking lot at 2pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
For more information contact Susan Williams: [email protected]
Cancellations due to weather will be sent out to those who wish to be contacted. Just send your email address to Susan Williams.
Information about future dates and meeting locations will be posted on the Friends of Castlewood Canyon Facebook page or the Friends website. www.castlewoodfriends.org
