Course Description:
This four-day (24 hours), interactive training will focus on muscular injury and effective, safe treatment strategies. At heart, this course centers on fostering improved diagnostic and clinical treating skills. Instruction will consist of demonstration and explanation of assessment and diagnosis protocols, an introduction of a wide range of acupuncture techniques, and a consideration of roughly 80 different specific injury presentations. There will be ample opportunity for hands-on practice under the direct supervision of the instructor.
About The Instructor: Dr. Yong Xin Fan
Yongxin Fan is an accomplished instructor of traditional Chinese tuina. He practiced and taught as an attending medical doctor and instructor at the Acupuncture Institute at the Chinese National Academy of TCM and at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center. A member of AOBTA, Yongxin Fan has lectured and worked as a visiting professor in Holland, Germany, and Japan. He has more than 16 years of clinical experience and his research has been published in the National Journal of TCM.
He specializes in applying an integrated therapy consisting of acupuncture, herbs, and tuina to treat various pain syndromes, including acute and chronic articulation and muscle injury lumbago, recovery from fractures, and headaches. Such integrative treatment is a hallmark of his approach to common ailments such as stress, allergies, insomnia, and gastrointestinal disorders. Fan has been on the faculty at AOMA since 2002.
Covid-19 Safety Precautions:
The health and safety of our faculty, staff, and students is of high priority at AOMA. In order to minimize exposure, individuals participating in this course will be required to wear a CDC approved mask at all times they are in the classroom. The course will take place across four rooms on the AOMA campus, with eight participants max. per room. During the lecture-based portions of the class Dr. Fan will located at random*, in one of the four rooms on campus, and will stream to the other rooms via Zoom, so as to reduce contact and exposure for those participating in the event. Once the lecture portion is over, and the hands-on practice begings Dr. Fan will move from room to room to assist in demonstrations and answer any questions that you might have.
*Your room allocation will be decided the day of the event, and therefore cannot be pre-assigned.
