Activism Panel discussing differing approaches to animal activism featuring Jakob from Humane Vision, Seb Alex, Tash Peterson, Jack Higgs and Michael Anagno from Animal Justice Party. 12:25pm at the Vegan Australia Workshop Stage on Sunday the 6th of April.
This panel brings together five unique activists who employ different strategies to champion animal rights and challenge societal norms. Jakob, also known as Humane Vision, combines humor, satire, and powerful storytelling to expose the harsh realities of animal agriculture while encouraging compassion through creative content. Seb Alex, a former architect, now dedicates his life to animal rights advocacy, offering workshops and lectures across the globe and spearheading initiatives like the Middle East Vegan Society. Tash Peterson is known for her bold and disruptive activism, using civil disobedience to raise awareness about speciesism and animal exploitation. Jack Higgs engages the public through thought-provoking street interviews and creative social experiments, aiming to challenge perceptions and spark conversations about veganism. Lastly, Michael Anagno, the WA State Convenor of the Animal Justice Party, advocates for systemic change through a rational, evidence-based approach, focusing on the political process to improve the lives of animals. Together, their diverse approaches highlight the multifaceted nature of activism and the various ways in which change can be driven.

Humane Vision:
Jakob, known as Humane Vision, is a passionate vegan content creator and activist from Brisbane. At 22, he launched a vegan clothing brand as a way to give animals more of a voice, but this venture soon evolved into a platform dedicated to promoting veganism through creative content. Pivoting towards advocacy, Jakob now uses humour, satire, and powerful storytelling to expose the harsh realities of animal agriculture while encouraging audiences to reflect on their choices.
Reaching millions of people each month across his platforms, Jakob is able to blend education with entertainment, making ethical issues accessible and impactful. His engaging style has resonated with thousands, inspiring a growing shift towards compassion for animals. Whether he’s dancing on camera or crafting emotional narratives, his goal remains the same, to challenge societal norms and make veganism impossible to ignore.

Seb Alex:
Born and raised in Lebanon, Seb Alex moved to Europe to pursue his career in Sustainable Architecture. Having worked with the UNHCR’s refugee program for a year, he then took the opportunity to enter the corporate world and work as an international coordinator of projects for an architecture company in Barcelona.
A year after, he decided to leave his corporate life behind and dedicate all his time to Animal Rights Advocacy.
During the past years, Seb has given animal rights advocacy workshops to over 1300+ activists across North America, Europe, Middle East and Australia, has helped launched the world’s first animal rights and vegan support center, and has published the FREE Ebook ”When Animal Rights & Logic Meet” in 20 languages.
Since 2019, Seb has given lectures in over 2/3 of universities in The Netherlands and more than 55 universities and schools in Canada, United States, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Belgium, United Kingdom and Portugal, reaching more than 6000 students between the ages of 13 and 30.
Currently, Seb concentrates on social media content creation and gives lectures on Animal ethics in universities and schools. He is also the founder of the Middle East Vegan Society, a non-profit organisation concentrating on the growth of veganism in the Middle East and North Africa using educational and corporate outreach.

Tash Peterson:
Tash is an animal rights activist known for her bold and attention-grabbing approach to activism. She has been featured in prominent media outlets such as UniLad, the New York Post, Sky News Australia, and Piers Morgan Uncensored (UK), and her activism has been covered nationally on The Project and Flashpoint Australia. Tash’s work highlights the pervasive issue of speciesism and aims to abolish all forms of animal exploitation. Her controversial style, which often includes acts of civil disobedience, serves as a catalyst for social awareness and change, as she believes media exposure is essential to raising visibility for animal rights. Through her activism, Tash seeks to challenge societal norms, advocating for a world where animals are no longer viewed as property or commodities but as people with intrinsic rights.

Jack Higgs:
Jack Higgs is a passionate vegan activist, animal rights advocate, and social media content creator based in Perth, Western Australia. He is known for his bold and disruptive activism, often filming the high-profile protests of his girlfriend, Tash Peterson, as well as engaging the public in thought-provoking conversations about animal exploitation.
Jack has built a reputation for his street interviews, public debates, and creative social experiments, using reverse psychology and satire to challenge perceptions about speciesism. His recent projects include posing as a “beagle meat” merchant and a farmer defending animal agriculture, exposing the contradictions in society’s treatment of different species. Through his viral content, Jack aims to spark conversations, dismantle myths about veganism, and push for a world where all animals are free from exploitation.

Michael Anagno:
Michael is the WA State Convenor of the Animal Justice Party. He believes that how a society treats its most vulnerable members reflects back on the society itself, and was drawn to the AJP’s focus on kindness and rationality. He is outraged by the way animals are routinely exploited, particularly within intensive animal agriculture, and is dedicated to improving the lives of animals through the political process. Michael advocates strongly for a rational, evidence-based approach to making change.
