What if you didn’t have to struggle alone with what can feel like the weight of the world?
What if you had a place to gather with other hope-seekers and learn practical ways to stay engaged, grounded, and connected during these times of change?

Active Hope, a term coined by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone, is a long-practiced approach for facing the challenges of our time without becoming overwhelmed or shutting down. Rather than passive optimism, Active Hope invites meaningful participation with life as it is, drawing on our shared courage, compassion, and care for the world.

In this community workshop, facilitators Annette Garber and Jennifer Craig will offer a supportive circle where participants can explore practices for processing grief, fear, love, and overwhelm, and for transforming these feelings into connection, courage, and purposeful action. Together, we will learn ways to nurture and sustain ourselves while remaining present and responsive to the challenges and possibilities of our time.

This workshop is open to therapists, educators, activists, students, and everyday citizens who are longing for community, resilience, and a deeper sense of hope rooted in action.
