Get ready for those upcoming summer theatre auditions (like for the Simcoe County Theatre Festival!!) by participating in this day-long workshop with respected coach and director Stewart Arnott on “How to prepare for and carry off an excellent in-person theatre audition!”
A fun, intensive and interactive one-day workshop, that will include:
- How to approach an audition monologue from a text-analysis perspective
- On-your-feet coaching on a monologue of your choice
- A discussion of what can happen in an audition room and tips on how to prepare for that
- A chance to try out your piece and those tips in a mock “audition” situation
Please choose 1 monologue that is no longer than 3 minutes, for a part that you would realistically be cast in, if possible. Preferably a Contemporary piece (from a play written in the later 20th century onwards), but if you really love a Classical piece, that will be fine too. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear that you can move around in easily.
Any experience level is welcome. If there are any questions about your participation, please email Leah (Education & Creation) at [email protected].
