Acting Master Class: Moment To Moment Organic Acting

As Actors how do we create truthful compelling performances? In this 2-day - 12 hour intensive workshop, you will learn the foundations of consistent inspired connection to text. Connect to your thinking feeling impulses and create consistent inspiration. Learn from professionals who work with highly sought after professional actors and teach at elite training institutions.

• Each day will have a physical and vocal warmup with imaginative character driven exercises.
• Each student will have the oportunity to work on their text over the weekend.
• You can prepare a 1 minute monologue or if joining the class with a friend bring a 2 minute scene (that gives you both the opportunity to work.)Please memorize your monologue or scene.
• You can choose classic or contemporary material.
• If joining as a virtual student you will have an oportunity to do all of the exercises with us, observe and learn from the in person text work and ask questions. Virtual actors will not be able to work through their scripts.
• There will be a one hour lunch break. The class will start at 10:00 AM PST and end at 5:00 PM PST

YOUR TEACHERS:

Paul Wagar is an actor, director, author and educator. He started his career at The Royal Shakespeare Company and then moved on to the acting company at Stratford, Ontario acting with Maggie Smith, Brian Bedford and Peter Ustinov.

As Artistic Director, he headed the Philadelphia Area Repertory Theatre, and Ark Theatre Company in Los Angeles. Nationally, Paul also directed THE TAMING OF THE SHREW for The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC, CLOUD 9 in New York City, and THE LOVER, in Chicago.

His teaching career spans 40 years beginning with The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, at the British American Drama Academy summer program in Oxford , and most recently he taught for the internationaly acclaimed UCLA school of Theatre for 20 years as an Adjunct Professor in the school of Theater, Film and Television.

Currently he teaches and coaches internationally for theatre, film and in the private sector: ongoing for the Geffen Theatre in Los Angeles; films include MONEY TALKS, NEXT FRIDAY, Brian Cranston in COLD COME THE NIGHT, and the 2017 film BLADE RUNNER.

Susanne Sulby began her acting and teaching career in Philadelphia at the University of the Arts . She has had a 40 year career acting, teaching, writing and coaching. Critically aclaimed she has appeared in many plays including her solo show, SANCTUARY which was mounted at festivals nationally and culminated with an Off Broadway run on Theatre Row. Most recently, she has been focused on coaching in film and television. Her recent projects include HIT MAN with Glen Powell, coaching multiple characters depicted in the movie and BRAVE THE DARK with Jared Harris and Nicholas Hamilton, where she both coached and performed. Other credits include dialect coaching for MARE OF EASTTOWN, Jean Smart in BABYLON, JK Simmons and cast in 21 BRIDGES, Jacki Weaver in “SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. She has spent 1000’s of hours working with top industry professionals and brings that real world experience to her teaching.
