Acting is a mandatory part of stage combat, but so often you’re expected to already know how to do it! We’ll learn some Acting 101 and how to apply it to a fight.

Katie Warner (she/him) is a fight and intimacy director dedicated to crafting safe moments of physical storytelling. She is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the SAFD, and has spent her whole life training in numerous movement disciplines, including ballet, international contemporary dance, and circus arts. She was nominated for a 2023 WATCH Award for Stage Combat Choreography. In addition to her choreographic work, Katie is a performer, teaching artist, writer, and musician.
Training: Duke Ellington School of the Arts, DC; Sarah Lawrence College, NY (BA, 2022); British American Drama Academy, Oxford (MCP ‘16, MIO ‘22).
