About this Event
Learn how to help your clients unhook from their critical thoughts, accept painful emotions, and connect with their underlying values – all in the service of living a rich and meaningful life.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT ACT (pronounced as the word “act,”) is a type of evidence-based psychotherapy developed in 1982 to treat a wide array of mental health and substance use disorders. Using mindfulness and acceptance techniques and exercises, act facilitates clients in accepting their internal experience without need to change it, to create distance between themselves and their thoughts, and to identify and align with their core values.
This training will be full of experiential exercises to help you learn these skills in an authentic way.
About the facilitator: Jean Rosmarin, PHD, is a licensed psychologist with 29 years of clinical and supervisory experience in a variety of settings, including community mental health and private practice. Jean has led numerous trainings and consultation groups on ACT, MI, and SFT. She applies ACT not only to her clinical work, but to own life as well.
