About the programme?
This programme is specifically for parents from African Caribbean Heritage Community (ACH) whose children may be experiencing emotional wellbeing or behavioural challenges at home or at school.
The 12 week programme focuses on topics such as:
- De-escalation.
- Parental presence.
- Reconciliation gestures.
- Understanding parent' trauma and child trauma.
The programme runs within City and Hackney over a 12 week period.
What is NVR?
NVR is an approach to helping parents and carers develop strategies to managing children's or young people’s destructive or violent behaviours, whilst also focusing on (re)-building a relationship with them.
Criteria to join
This programme is specifically for parents from African Caribbean Heritage Community (ACH) living in City and Hackney. Children must be aged 9 years and above.
Please note, in order to participate on the course in Hackney, you need to be one of the following:
- A resident in Hackney or the City.
- Have a child that is a resident or attends a school in Hackney or the City.
- Work in Hackney or the City.
