Acrylic Painting with Stencils

Create a unique atmospheric layered acrylic painting on paper using your own stencils! For the first part of this workshop you will learn how to create your own stencils from mylar. Then we will get the paints out and have fun creating colourful compositions incorporating the delightful contrast of sharp edges and soft transitioning colours. 

You’ll learn how to work with stencils and a bit about composition and colour along the way. 

Take home one or two unique ready-to-frame 11x14" paintings on paper!

All materials will be provided, just bring yourself and a willingness to experiment.

Optionally, if you want to bring a few images printed on paper to trace for stencils, you are welcome to do so. Images 2-4” in size with clear outlines work best. Landscape, nature, cityscape, or other clear visual themes you love work well for these.
