Acrylic Painting with Erin Donnelly - Four Week Series

Have you longed to learn to paint but feel stymied or overwhelmed at how to start? Do you feel like there are “natural born artists” and that perhaps you are not one of them- but you’d like to be? I firmly believe that all people can learn the tools required to become an expressive, unique artist- they just need the right encouragement and the opportunity to explore in a safe, inspiring environment.

In this four week intro course you will learn the basic tools you need to start painting with confidence and creativity and to develop your own unique style. You will learn the basics of the color wheel, fundamentals of seeing, how to manipulate acrylic paint on canvas in creative ways, and how to create interesting compositions from start to finish. We will be exploring abstract, still life and landscape compositions, and you will be sent home each week with your canvas + materials to do any optional further exploration and for the opportunity to integrate the lesson at home.

Paints, canvases, and class handouts will be provided. Bring an easel if you have one, 3-5 brushes of various sizes, (I will have some to lend out at the studio), 2-3 source photos, an attitude of curiosity and exploration, and let me help you get started on or deepen your painting journey.
