Acrylic Painting for Beginners with Melanie Sullivan

Starting with a blank canvas can be scary for everyone, this class will give you the confidence & knowledge, how to break down the task and get started.

Painting with acrylics gives the vibrancy & heavy feeling of oils without the messy clean up! A forgiving medium for a beginner, acrylic paints are quick to dry & easy to cover over when mistakes happen! In this informative class hosted by Melanie Sullivan local Artist & tutor, plenty of guidance is provided on materials & technique.

Sat April 15th, 12.30-4.30

Working initially with primary colours, students progress to mixing secondary and tertiary colours. Melanie offers plenty advice on colour theory, essential when starting to paint. Melanie will demo & guide students through various painting techniques, finally working towards the project : a small acrylic painting for students to complete and take away. Students work from images, Melanie can provide some inspiration or bring along your own!

Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, all materials and equipment are provided. Feel free if you already have some kit, to bring it along.

Mel Sullivan who has over 30 years experience as an Art teacher and Artist herself, group size maximum of 5.
