The skills will be visually captivating, and they will be broken down in such a way that they will also be very accessible. You’ll learn proper techniques as well as how to spot the movements safely.
No partner or experience required to attend. This is an all levels class that can be scaled up or down.
Cheer:
Learn Cheer skills from a former professional AFL and NBA cheerleader and collegiate cheer coach and current international Acro instructor with 29 years of experience! Cheer is explosive, and you will learn techniques that will unleash your power and soar to new heights. Single base as well as multi-base skills will be taught.
Prerequisite: Some experience flying or basing F2H (Foot-to-Hand)
Journey to Hand-to-Hand (H2H):
Former professional AFL and NBA cheerleader and collegiate cheer coach and current international Acro instructor Rob Li will be coming to Austin to teach hand to hand things!
He will cover basics and foundational hand- to-hand skills and work towards Standing H2H… or Standy Handy’s as they call them in Philly. During the workshop, you will also learn drills that will improve your H2H skills as well as how to spot effectively. After the workshop, we will jam, and Rob is willing to provide feedback for skills and will lift anyone who hasn’t been part of his 10,000 people Acro project.
Prerequisite: Flyers must be able to keep their arms straight when upside down. Bases should be comfortable supporting weight through their wrists.
Toe Pitches:
Pitch Please! From foundations to refinements to multi base toe pitches. Let’s go! Learn how to utilize leg strength and timing so that 180 Toe Pitches will become smooth and effortless. We will go over variations as well pitching the flyer from one base to another.
Prerequisite: Be able to hold a Standing F2H (Foot-to-hand) for 6 seconds without any steps.
