Come Enjoy yoga featuring live music by Alex Lacquement. Alex is a meditative guitar artist whose calming tones and lyrical playing invite listeners into a deeply soothing musical journey. Emily Couto will lead the community through an all-levels flow designed to complement the music, with an extra long savasana meant to allow time to really soak up the music. This class is appropriate for pregnant and non-pregnant students!
Based in Baltimore, Alex draws on his rich background in music education to create a performance style that is both contemplative and compelling. Alex’s guitar work is characterized by its serene resonance and warm clarity. His playing transcends genre, weaving together jazz, bluegrass, old-time, and ambient textures into a calming soundscape that transforms any space into a meditative haven. His tone is unmistakable—rich, inviting, and infused with a gentle energy that’s both restful and immersive. As a composer, arranger, and producer, he crafts music that feels intentionally restful, guiding listeners into a space of reflection and ease. When he's not performing, Alex supports community-based music-making, curating events like Music on the Square, the Baltimore Honky Tonk, and leading the Baltimore Bluegrass Jam. Alex focuses on fostering environments where music brings people together.
Emily Couto has been teaching yoga for over a decade to all ages. She loves bringing people more fully into their bodies through movement and breathwork. Her teaching style invites students to become more observant of their bodies and their habits. She also loves live music and is excited to teach alongside the meditative guitar taught by Alex. Emily is a regular yoga teacher at the Womb Room.
