Intimate fortnightly acoustic indie alternative jam sessions at The Film Atelier

We host fortnightly jam sessions for acoustic alternative folk americana indie music for a range of musicians.

The format of the evening is loose. We do not repeat aimless cover songs nor radio commercial fodder. If you listen to popular music, this evening is not for you. We have to be clear about the guidelines since we have had pop divas and other misunderstanding musicians rock up expecting something out of Top of the Pops. Even worse - Abba.

Musicians are expected to have a mastery of their own instrument before attending. It is a session to engage and discover improvisational work with other diverse musicians; learning how to be flexible and listen to other musicians to create music for a creative and deeply fun endeavour. We keep the acoustic sessions small for singer songwriters coming to learn to share their work and grow it with different instrumentation or to noodle around. One or two intelligible covers are permitted during the evening.
