Every fourth Wednesday Caffè Lena and The Saratoga Acoustic Blues Society team up for a great evening of acoustic blues performed by amateur and off-duty professional blues players from around the Capital District. Whether you come to listen or play, you’ll be treated to some great performances! All ages and playing levels are welcome.Our host is keyboard player and WRPI radio host & NYS Blues Hall of Famer Sonny Speed, a founding member of SABS.
September Feature: Dean "Pops" Kreplin Sr. (lead guitar) of 4 The Blues and Eric "Big E" Kreplin (harmonica, vocals) of Silver Chain have united to form Big E and Pops! Keeping it in the family, this father and son duo have the blues running through their blood. With a combined 77 years of experience and influences ranging from the bassy vocals of Junior Wells to the electric-blues sound of Muddy Waters. Big E and Pops have a unique style of blues that's all their own. Having played in cities from up and down the Hudson Valley to Nashville, TN, Big E and Pops are ready to get you out of your seat and on to your feet with a soulful night of live music.
