An Evening with Acoustic AlchemyACOUSTIC ALCHEMYWell at least nobody could ever accuse us of releasing too much music! quips GregCarmichael on the release of their latest EP The Empire of Lights, but I think our fans know by now that were a little obsessive about only releasing music when we have something ready that we really love.The four tracks on their latest release visit familiar themes for longtime fans, from the western shuffle of 8,000 Miles to the reggae flavours of Alisio, the upbeat joy of Back toBack to the laid back groove of Other People. We hope theres something here for everyone, says Miles Gilderdale, were very lucky that over the years weve found fans that just get what were doing, so we can wear our influences on our sleeves and not have to try and fit into any one style.With over 35 years of recording and touring, the bands longevity may be due in part to that spirit of never trying to fit in, but to just make music that they love, I feel really grateful that weve been on such a long journey with our fans and theyre still there with us. Greg says, We talk after shows and its always such an honor to hear the stories of how our music has been the soundtrack to so many peoples lives.This EP is the first of a series of shorter musical releases that will eventually combine into a full album. Miles says, We know that these days people listen to our music in lots of different ways but I think we all remember the thrill of bringing a new record home and listening from start to finish, so we try and make sure everything we release works in that way as well as on playlists.The Empire of Lights will be released to all music platforms worldwide on June 13th 2025and a limited run of CDs will be pressed to be available to purchase at live shows.
