ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE

Formed in 1995 by Makoto Kawabata at the same time as the Acid Mothers Temple Soul Collective. The group released its debut album in 1997 on PSF Records (Japan), and it was selected as one of the year's best albums in the The Wire magazine (UK). In 1998 the group played their first tours of the US and Europe. Since then the group has released a huge number of albums on labels from many different countries. As of 2017, the group has released around 80 albums. Every year since 1998, they have toured extensively in the US and Europe, and more recently have started performing around Asia and in Japan too. The group has performed in collaboration with many musicians including psychedelic originators Gong and Guru Guru, Simeon (Silver Apples), Nik Turner (Hawkwind), and the Occitanian trad singer Rosina de Peira. Japanese collaborators have included Afrirampo,Tatsuya Yoshida (Ruins), Maso Yamazaki (Masonna), Seiichi Yamamoto (Boredoms), Jun Kuriyama (The Ox), and many others.

To begin with the group had a floating line-up with contributions from many members of the AMT Soul Collective. But as tours became more frequent, the group began to coalesce around a core touring line-up. Other bands were created with Acid Mothers Temple as part of their name (AMT & The Cosmic Inferno, AMT SWR, AMT & The Space Paranoid, AMT & Infinity Rising Zero, Acid Mothers Gong, Acid Mothers Guru Guru, Acid Moon Temple, etc.), but AMT & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. has continued to function as the mothership and main lineage for all our activities.

In 2016, twenty one years since the group's founding, there was a major shift in the line-up and "Next Generation" was added to the name.We now view the first twenty years as chapter one in our story, and we are now turning the page to start chapter two. The group played more than 100 shows in each year, toured in Europe, North America, South America, Oceania and Asia, also Japan. They also played many festivals (Glastonbury Festival in UK, Levitation in US and France, Rock In Opposition in France, Standon Calling in UK, Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film,Video & Music Festival in Malaysia, LUC fest 貴人散步音樂節 in Taiwan, etc).

During pandemic, they launched their official Bandcamp, have released more than 60 albums (including many unreleased materials), and have toured in Japan in each year. And they played the streaming festival “Levitation Sessions”. They organized “Acid Mothers Olympic 2021” against “Tokyo Olympics 2021”, they originated and played a new style of “music sports”. Finally the group went to the first European tour in Autumn 2022 and North American tour in Spring and Autumn 2023, after pandemic. 2024, the group will tour in Europe in Spring and North America in Autumn.

The current touring line-up is: Kawabata Makoto, Higashi Hiroshi, Satoshima Nani, Sawano Shozo and Jyonson Tsu since 2022.

THE MACKS

“Walloping heaviosity threaded with streams of blues and thrash… doesn’t begin to describe The Macks’ sound. This is music that takes you places.” (WIllamette Week)

The Macks are brothers Josef and Ben Windheim, Sam Fulwiler, Jacob Michael Perris, and Aidan Harrison. In 2022, the band came out with their lockdown project “Rabbit.” Their raw and progressive take on rock and roll launched the band towards festivals and tours from Idaho to Mexico City.

After Willamette Week dubbed The Macks “the masters of controlled mayhem” and Portland’s Best New Band of 2022, the band could have taken a breather. Instead The Macks finished the year with another full-length album release.

Self-produced in their Portland home, “Dajiban” builds on the creative successes of “Rabbit.” The album took listeners deep into expansive, catchy, gnarly, and unmistakably “Macks” territory. “Dajiban” is “Elemental rock ‘n’ roll” that “flourishes in a liminal space between raw creation and perfection.” (Eugene Weekly)

In 2024 The Macks cut deeper. The band released The Macks Are A Knife with in a dogged pursuit of being the sharpest band from the PNW to date. Tobias Wisner for Oregon Music News reveals, “The album teeters on the edge of a rhythmic and melodic cliff, does a couple backflips at the precipice, and lands safely on two feet, ready for applause. It’s brimming with confidence without pretense, and if their first single they dropped yesterday, “Nice,” is any indication, I think those hungry for some Rock that pushes boundaries in just the right way will be satisfied.”

The band’s 2017 “Camp Poppa” and 2019 “Yup” LPs documented their lively shows and garage rock energy. 2022’s “Rabbit” was born in pandemic isolation and made solely for themselves. The result was adventurous and eclectic.

The Macks embrace opportunities to play live in bigger and bigger spaces. With shows at Pickathon in Portland, the Spanish Ballroom in Tacoma, the MonkeyBee Festival III in Mexico City, Treefort Fest in Boise, and Dog Days Fest in Savannah, show the band is focused on meeting the moment.

The Macks began in 2015 with Sam (vocals), Ben (guitar), Josef (drums). Jacob (keys) joined the band in 2020 to create and record Rabbit. In 2021 Aidan (bass) began touring and recording with The Macks.

THE REGAL DRUG

The Regal Drug is the sonic brainchild of Scott N. Amore, born from an abandoned, busted piano discovered in a New Haven parking lot in the dead of night, 1995. What began as a spontaneous experiment in sound and electronics has evolved over three decades into an immersive recording and performance project. The current incarnation features a dynamic trio: Amore on keys and textures, joined by Ben Heller on trumpet and Richard Brown on saxophone. Blending improvisation with deep electronic atmospheres, The Regal Drug channels three decades of exploration into moments of musical gratitude and raw expression.
