Join ACEC-BC’s Okanagan Young Professionals Group for a breakfast event on Climate Change Impact in the World of Engineering and Design!


Guest panelist from Environment and Climate Change Canada, Associated Engineering, and Urban Systems will be discussing how to put sustainability and climate change adaptation at the forefront of our industry.
This event will feature presentations, round-table discussions, Q&A, and lots of opportunities to network with other young professionals in the Okanagan region!




Manager, Regional Water for BC,

Robyn is a Water Engineer with 15 years’ experience in water system hydraulics, water and wastewater treatment, and project management, and is currently the Manager of Regional Water for BC at Associated Engineering. Robyn is passionate about sustainability and preparing our infrastructure for the impacts of climate change and is a member of the ACEC-BC Climate Change and Sustainability Committee and a Climate Advisor for Associated Engineering.



Coordinator, Data Products Office,

Jeremy Fyke has a background climate science and services, which includes a Geology degree and Climate Modelling MSc the UVic Climate Modelling Lab, PhD work at Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) in New Zealand and postdoctoral and staff climate research positions at the US Department of Energy Los Alamos National Laboratory. Motivated to link climate science and public and private sector decision making via Canadian climate services, Jeremy is a Coordinator with the Data Products Office at the Canadian Centre for Climate Services, within Environment and Climate Change Canada. He is also Adjunct Professor at the Department of Geography at Simon Fraser University and the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at Colorado University at Boulder, and Chair of the Okanagan Basin Water Board Water Stewardship Council. He is a P.Geo. (Non-Practising) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.



Climate Change & Water Resources Specialist,

Aaron Coelho is a climate change specialist with a focus on community vulnerability / risk assessments and resiliency planning. Aaron’s strength lies in his ability to navigate the complex and sensitive nature of climate change and work directly with communities and stakeholders to develop adaptation plans. Many of Aaron’s projects involve both natural and built infrastructure and understanding how climate change will impact the interacting systems. Using vulnerability and risk assessment approaches, Aaron helps communities prioritize proactive adaptation strategies through capital planning, operations, policy, and capacity building.
