Accounting Rulers: The Rights and Obligations of the Ummah
About this Event
What responsibilities do rulers carry towards the people they govern? What rights and obligations belong to the Ummah? And how should those entrusted with authority be held to account?
This seminar will explore these questions through the lens of Islamic political thought, examining the relationship between authority, responsibility, accountability and the Ummah. The session will consider the principles that govern the relationship between rulers and the people, while providing space for reflection, questions and discussion.
