Accessibility Yoga Workshop
Learn how to use props and modifications in your yoga practice.
Have you wanted to try yoga but you are not sure it's accessible to you? Did you once enjoy yoga but now find it more challenging within your ever changing body?
Join Lori Barrett RYT200, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Specialist to explore ways to make yoga work with where you are!
What to Expect:
- We will discuss props and their uses.
- We will discuss modifications and how you can use them in your practice.
- We will enjoy a breath practice to deepen our awareness of our bodies.
Lori will demonstrate a pose in several different variations. Each classmate will select the variation they want to work with and we will explore props and modifications of that pose.
We will go through several key poses you experience in a yoga class and props and modifications for them.
We will end with Savasana.
This resting pose can be done seated in a chair or lying on the floor - your choice!!
- This is a beginner friendly class.
- No past yoga experience is required.
- If the floor is not a comfortable seat for you there will be chairs available.
What to bring:
- Yoga Mat: if you do not have we have a few on hand to borrow
- Wear comfortable clothing that you will be able to move your body in
- Water Bottle
- Journal for notes if you would like
