This one-day workshop, presented by Peer-Reviewed ACT trainer Brian Mundy, LCSW-R, will cover the basics of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and its application with persons struggling with experiences around trauma. The training is designed for practitioners both familiar and unfamiliar with ACT. In the workshop we will look at the impact of trauma on the mind and the body, and engage in learning interventions aimed at promoting psychological flexibility..
By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
- identify the three primary processes that contribute to psychological flexibility
- understand the impact of trauma on the body and the mind
- learn to shapte trauma treatment beyond a focus on symptoms
- learn about the nature and function of exposure work as an intervention

6.5 in-person or live, online CE contact hours will be awarded to NY, NJ, and CT licensed social workers, NY mental health counselors and NY psychologists who have met the attendance requirements below.
Social Workers: CSSW is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers. Provider #SW‐0021
Mental Health Counselors: CSSW is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. Provider #MHC-0137

Licensed in another state? Please check with your licensing board. Many states recognize Columbia University School of Social Work continuing education hours as we are a CSWE accredited institution and approved by the New York State Education Department to provide continuing education.
Please note that in order to receive your CE certificate, you must attend the full workshop and complete the evaluation in accordance to NYSED regulations. Please plan accordingly to arrive on time and remain for the duration of the event. There is a 10-minute grace period at the start OR end of the workshop; no more than 10 minutes total can be missed. Please arrive/log in no later than 9:10am ET OR leave/log out no earlier than 4:50pm ET. Participants who do not meet the attendance requirements will not receive a CE certificate or refund.
CE Distribution: Evaluation and Certificate forms will be distributed via email within 1 week following the event to those meeting the attendance requirements above.
