The 2023 Academic Libraries North (ALN) Conference is on the theme of 'Revolutionary thoughts: constructively disrupting the status quo in libraries for the new normal.'

Over two days, one online and one in-person in Leeds, it will explore how academic libraries function in a complex environment - from the pressures of changes in UK Higher Education, to the rise of digital collections, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to adapt to the so-called ‘new normal’. During the pandemic, libraries swiftly adapted to support their users. These changes have encouraged us to develop new ways of working, to disrupt our normal activities and to embrace revolutionary thoughts. This conference encourages us to reflect on how disrupting the status quo brings benefits and to take stock of the changes that stuck and those that did not.

ALN Conference 2023 (#ALN23) will showcase and celebrate how lessons learnt during the pandemic, along with a new online confidence, could shape the future for academic libraries. The programme comprises a range of thought-provoking workshops, presentations, lightning talks and keynote speakers.

Delegates can choose to attend both days, or the day that is most relevant to them.

Delegates are welcome from all regions, not only those who work in ALN member institutions.
