What is Shuffle Dance?
The type of shuffle dancing taught is Cutting Shapes, a street dance from the 1980s and 1990s in the UK and danced to electronic music like techno and house. The dance is based on moves like the running man and Charleston, and can be danced freestyle or as a choreography.
Where and when?
Classes are held at GFF Damian Dance Studios.
Please do not enter the class until a few minutes before the class start time. (GFF policy is that if you are more than 5 minutes late, you will not be able to enter class and will not be refunded.)
Do I need any dance experience?
No. The moves will be broken down into basic parts, and the music will be played at a slow bpm, allowing you to build confidence while you learn.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, lightweight clothes because you will sweat! Shuffle is an incredible workout so gymwear is appropriate. Please bring a change of shoes for wearing inside the class, and leave your outdoor shoes at the entrance.
Please note that a minimum of 3 people must be booked onto the class in advance for it to run. If the minimum is not met, the class will be cancelled and you will be notified by email 2 hours prior. Please book on by Tuesday to avoid disappointment.
What happens next?
After you are comfortable with the basic steps, you can move to the open level class on Wednesday at 20:15.
