Abronia is a six-piece band based in Portland, Oregon, who uses two guitars, pedal steel, tenor saxophone, bass, and a single 32” bass drum (no drum kit her) to create a singular blend of widescreen psychedelia, arid desert noir, Eastern drone, avant-jazz, doom, post-punk, and acid-folk.Since 2017 they have released three full length studio albums on labels like Water Wing, the UK based Cardinal Fuzz, and the Massachusetts based, Feeding Tube Records.
They have toured extensively in the US and Europe, appearing at festivals such as Supersonic (Birmingham, UK), Schellraiser (Nevada), and Lose Yr Mind (Portland). Abronia’s new album is slated for February 20, 2026, and is again a joint release from Cardinal Fuzz and Feeding Tube Records.
EGOTONES:
Formed in 2008 by multi-instrumentalists Austin Armijo and Christian Layton, EGOTONES have been exploring the sonic intersections of surf, spaghetti western, psychedelic rock and points heavier for over a decade. With the addition of drummer Jarryd Bishop and bassist Davis Koier (and without the constraints of a vocalist) the band is free to indulge a wide spectrum of creative ideas, drawing on influences from CAN to Ennio Morricone.
Descending Pharaohs:
The Pharaohs are quite heavy in a traditional sense of the word, but also bring the compositional complexity and raw power of amped up Eastern scale workouts that are rarely executed without pretension by American musicians. Their influences run deep in the realms of 70s electric Arabic/Anatolian, spiritual jazz, and krautrock, but they project these influences towards a modern translation to produce a sound and vocabulary that transcends these collective influences. There is a primal nature to the songs that captures the ethnographic post-punk excursions of Savage Republic or the Sun City Girls, and the more sinister sides of the Krautrock worlds of Ash Ra Tempel or Amon Duul II.
