Elena Sergienko has been teaching and performing Argentine tango since 2009. Her journey began in her hometown, Kyiv, where she quickly gained recognition for her talent and dedication. Soon, her passion for tango took her across the globe, leading workshops and performing in countries such as Turkey, Italy, Austria, Latvia, Estonia, China, Finland, Belarus, Poland, Moldova, Argentina, and throughout Russia. Since 2022, Elena has been based in Prague, continuing her teaching and performances while traveling.
Elena’s approach to tango is deeply enriched by her interdisciplinary background. She holds an MA in Psychology and Counseling, with certification in Expressive Arts Therapy, and has cultivated expertise in body mechanics, neurobiology, and Dance/Movement Therapy. This holistic approach helps her students connect their body and mind, creating harmony and freedom in their dance.
Elena believes that tango is more than just a dance—it’s a profound connection between the self, the partner, the music, and the ronda. Her teaching method emphasizes harmony between body and mind, helping students unlock freedom and confidence both on the dance floor and in life.
Her workshops progress from simple to sophisticated, while maintaining a focus on elegance and awareness. She builds each class progressively, guiding students from fundamental techniques to nuanced, refined movement. Her aim is to make tango accessible, meaningful, and transformative for dancers of all levels.
Above all, Elena treasures the human connection at the heart of tango. Whether through her performances or her teaching, she inspires her students to discover the beauty of presence, sensitivity, and authentic connection in every step.
