About this Event

Join The West End Museum for the final book talk of 2026!

Explore the history of abolitionists of the North Slope of Beacon Hill and beyond with author and journalist, Gail Braccidiferro MacDonald.

Her new book, Abolitionists of the Northeast, Black Leaders in the Antislavery Movement, tells the stories of the courageous, but little-known people from throughout New England and New York during the 18th and 19th centuries who dedicated their lives to fighting to end slavery and improving conditions and opportunities for people of color.

From the overlooked to local Boston abolitionist heavyweights, learn about the most influential advocates in the earliest years of the United States’ anti-slavery movement.

Books will be available for purchase at the event.
