ABK Acadiana - Basin Basics
Curious about the Atchafalaya Basin and why it matters to protect it? Whether you're new to the Basin or looking to deepen your understanding of this incredible ecosystem, Basin Basics is the perfect place to start.
Join us for Basin Basics, our volunteer training session, on July 20 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at Cavalier House Books (302 A Jefferson St., Lafayette, LA 70501).
Held twice each year, Basin Basics is a fun and welcoming way to connect with others who care about protecting the Atchafalaya Basin. Enjoy good company with like-minded people and an engaging introduction to the Basin's ecology, challenges, and importance to Louisiana. You'll also learn about Atchafalaya Basinkeeper's work and the many ways volunteers help protect this vital resource.
Whether you're interested in becoming a volunteer or simply want to learn more about the Basin, we encourage you to attend. New volunteers will receive the training required to participate in future events and projects, while current volunteers are invited to join us for a refresher and to reconnect with fellow advocates.
Important: Attendance at Basin Basics is required for anyone who has not previously volunteered with Atchafalaya Basinkeeper and would like to participate in future volunteer opportunities. The continued success of our events also depends on the involvement of our current volunteers, so we strongly encourage all volunteers to attend.
We look forward to seeing you there and growing our community of Basin advocates!
