Velkommen til prosessforestilling med ABJECTIFIED PROJECT på Oslo Nye - Central Teateret!

Ouverture er en visceral performance av Abjectified Project, hvor teater, dans og dragkunst kommer sammen for å skape skeiv kunst. Dette verket omfavner fascinasjon for å utfordre ideene om skjønnhet, normalitet og hva den skeive kroppen representerer.
Det abjekte spiller på følelser som frastøtelse, sjokk, frykt, avsky og kvalme, og problematiserer hva som forbindes med skjønnhet kontra hva som regnes som stygt. Med arv fra alternativ dragtradisjon, skrekkfilm, abject art og affektteori fremheves skeive kropper satt i et univers hvor målet er å ta kontroll over det som mange i samfunnet den dag i dag mener er frastøtende: å være skeiv.
Abjectified Project er et nyoppstartet dragkunstkompani som består av utøvere med bakgrunn innen drag, scenekunst og en felles forkjærlighet for frastøtende estetikk. Det ønskes herved velkommen til prøveforestillingen med arbeidstittel Ouverture på Oslo Nye Teater – Centralteateret 21. oktober 2026!
Forestillingen bygger på en serie dragforestillinger fra 2023–25, og med dette prosjektet løftes Abjectified ut av “drag-cabaret-formatet” og inn i scenekunsten og en mer helhetlig scenisk dramaturgi. Utøvere er Åshild Livsdatter Brinchmann Løvvig, Peter David Ramthun, Sofie Bøttger Bratberg og Jens Martin Arvesen Welde-Hartvedt. Dramaturg og ytre blikk er Katinka Steensgaard. Tine Semb med Karmaklubb* er medprodusent og koordinator for prosjektet.
Alle involverte har forskjellige faglige bakgrunner: dans, skuespill og teater, filmteori, sykepleie og medisinstudier, manus, pedagogikk og lingvistikk – disipliner som på ulike måter bringes inn i arbeidet for å inspirere og idémyldre, samt skape en egen tolkning og teori rundt det abjekte som estetikk og scenisk virkemiddel i samspill med utøvernes praksis innen skeiv kunst og drag.
I tillegg inviteres andre gjesteartister med. Det vil bli en blanding av performance materiale fra Abjectified og line up-akts fra våres respektive inviterte artister. Velkommen til prøveforestilling 21. oktober 2026!

Ouverture is a visceral performance by Abjectified Project, where theater, dance and abject drag art come together to create a fusion of queer performance. This work embraces disgust, fear, and fascination to challenge the ideas of beauty, normality and what the queer body represents.
The abject plays on emotions such as repulsion, shock, fear, disgust and nausea, and problematizes what is associated with beauty versus what is considered ugly. With heritage from alternative drag tradition, horror films, abject art and affect theory, queer bodies are highlighted in a universe where the goal is to take control of what many in society still consider repulsive to this day: being queer.
Abjectified Project is a newly started drag art company consisting of performers with backgrounds in drag, performing arts and a shared love of repulsive aesthetics. We hereby welcome you to the rehearsal performance with the working title Ouverture at Oslo Nye Teater – Centralteateret on October 21, 2026!
The performance is based on a series of drag performances from 2023–25. With this project, Abjectified is lifted out of the “drag cabaret format” and into the performing arts and a more complete dramaturgy. Performers are Åshild Livsdatter Brinchmann Løvvig, Peter David Ramthun, Sofie Bøttger Bratberg and Jens Martin Arvesen Welde-Hartvedt. Dramaturg and external observer is Katinka Steensgaard. Tine Semb with Karmaklubb* is co-producer and coordinator of the project.
All involved have different professional backgrounds: dance, acting and theater, film theory, nursing and medical studies, screenwriting, pedagogy and linguistics – disciplines that are brought into the work in different ways to inspire and generate ideas, as well as create their own interpretation and theory around the abject as an aesthetic and performative tool in interaction with the performers' practice within queer art and drag.
In addition, other guest artists are invited. There will be a mixture of performance material from abjectified and line-up acts from our respective invited artists. Welcome to the rehearsal performance at Oslo Nye Teater - Centralteateret on October 21, 2026!
