The annual Air and Country Show takes place once again on the former RAF Abingdon (Abingdon Airfield / Dalton Barracks), Oxfordshire on Saturday 18th May 2024.Its ran by a group of volunteers headed by a small committee team.
It will feature an afternoon Air Display program consisting:
- Supermarine Spitfire Mk19
- The Titans Display Team
- Muscle Pitts aerobatics with the exciting car race
- Hawker Hurricane Mk1
- The Gazelle Display Team (x4 helicopters)
- Auster Mk6
- North American P51 Mustang 'Jersey Jerk'
- BAC Jet Provost T5
- RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team
- RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire & Hurricane (flypasts)
- North American Harvard
The above display aircraft will also be on static display aswell as selected invited statics which includes the Historic Army Aircraft Flight Beaver & Auster, Chipmunk, Sioux, Skeeter & Scout aswell as Navy Wings owned Harvard.
A large aircraft Fly In will also take place whereby over 50 varying types both modern and historic will fly in to be on display on the ground for closer inspection. Types will range from Tiger Moths to the huge RAF C17 Globemaster transport (tbc).
Northrumbian Helicopters will be providing Pleasure Flights from the back of the showground out to the east to give a birds eye view of the airfield and outskirts of Oxford City.
Ground attractions feature heavily and includes:
-The Radio Days Big Band
-Karen & Duncan Wymbs musical duo
-Rescue Husky dogs (between 15 - 20+ dogs!!)
-Miniature Steam Engines
-Radio Controlled Model Jets
-World War Two Re-Enactors and associated equipment
-Classic and ex Military vehicles & Motorcycles
-Crafts Marquee with many craft stalls
-Caz on Sax
-Ferret Racing
-Lissie Allsop Wartime live music
-Punch & Judy
-Husky Dog demonstrations
-Aircraft cockpits to try out
-Farm animals including Lamas / Sheep / Rabbits / Donkeys etc
-Vintage Fire Engines
And much more!
Over 75 trade stands and exhibits, a small RAF Abingdon area whereby former personnel can meet and greet, Amusements (Hebborns),
Catering for hot & cold food / drink, a Bar provided by The Prince of Wales in Shippon, Ice Creams provided by Southern Counties.
Tickets online available: Adult 21, Seniors (65+) £11, 5-15 year olds £7, Under 5s Free.
