ABIDE: An Evening with Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah
About this Event
ABIDE: An Evening with Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah
Artist Talk, Poetry Reading & Book Signing
Join NEFER Bookcafé for the inaugural gathering of ABIDE—a series exploring what it means to stay with ourselves, witness one another, and create space for the conversations that shape our lives.
NEFER welcomes poet Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah, author of Sorry I Missed Your Call, I Was Trying to K*ll Myself, a moving collection that explores memory, identity, grief, race, tenderness, and the quiet journey from survival toward softness. Through poems that are both deeply personal and profoundly universal, Dawson-Amoah offers language for experiences that are too often carried in silence.
The evening will feature a live poetry reading, an intimate conversation with the author, audience Q&A, and a book signing.
Whether you've read the collection or are discovering Ewurakua's work for the first time, this gathering invites you to slow down and listen deeply.
Because sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer one another is our willingness to abide.
