About this Event
American Association of University Women (AAUW) Movie Watch Party
Come join us for one of the movie watch parties being held at a private home on January 23 & 24, 2026. We'll be screening a film that explores themes of space, following your dreams, and overcoming adversity. It's going to be an exciting and inspiring event that you won't want to miss!
These viewings precede an online, live Zoom presentation featuring NASA astrophysicist, Dr. Charity Woodrum, who will discuss her work with the James Webb Space Telescope at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and the movie about her life. It's recommended to watch the film before attending the live event.
Register to join a watch party with a small group, supporting one another as you view this powerfully moving, award-winning 78-minute documentary film about Dr. Woodrum, "Space, Hope and Charity." The film follows Dr. Woodrum’s journey through poverty and tragedy as she pursues her dream of becoming an astrophysicist. Watch the trailer here.
Many thanks to AAUW Oregon Online for sponsoring this free screening for Oregon, California, Washington, and Montana branches!
