Aaron Copland composed Lincoln Portrait in 1942 during the tumultuous years of World War II. The orchestral score weaves together some of Lincoln’s most powerful speeches, delivered by a narrator alongside the music.
Before the concert, we invite you to join us for guided tours of a true national treasure: The Capt. Thomas Espy Post, one of the country’s last remaining Grand Army of the Republic Posts.
