About this Event

Join the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health for our 34th Anniversary & Mental Health Symposium. This year's theme is Mental Wellness in the Age of Disconnection, we explore the evolving challenges shaping mental health and well-being in our various communities.

This year’s symposium will examine the ways artificial intelligence, social media, and changing social and political conditions are influencing how we connect, communicate, and care for our mental health. We will take a closer look at the impact of these changes on youth particularly Black and brown youth as well as the broader implications for community well-being.

Through engaging conversations with healthcare professionals, community leaders, students, advocates, and wellness practitioners, the symposium will explore the importance of human connection, cultural identity, lived experience, and community healing in an increasingly disconnected world.

Attendees will have the opportunity to gain new perspectives, engage in meaningful dialogue, and leave with practical tools and strategies to support mental wellness in their personal lives, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Together, we will ask an important question: In an age of increasing digital connection, how do we preserve the human connection that keeps us well?
