We All Have Stories To Tell with Tree of Change
Host: Emory Douglas
Info: On June 18, 2026, the African American Art & Culture Complex gathers a circle of storytellers, culture keepers, and movement leaders inspired by Emory Douglas: In Our Lifetime to share their answer to the question, “What values are guiding (and should / could guide) our struggles through transition(s) into futures of sustainable intergenerational solidarity?” We will touch on beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and actions that strengthen cross-movement organizing. The circle will open with our featured storytellers: Nancy Hom, Roberto Martinez, Lara Kiswani, and Emory Douglas. We will then open it up for others to share their stories. This Storytelling Circle is part of both the exhibition and. astrategic planning process aimed at exploring the values that will guide the AAACC into the future. Notes from the event will help inform deeper articulation of the AAACC's guiding values and ensure a broad, intersectional view for the years to come.
