For the next A2B, Associate Professor Daniel Elam will take a deeply personal and analytical approach to exploring Carly Rae Jepsen’s landmark record, EMOTION where he will unpack the work not just as a pop album, but as an exhaustive taxonomy of gay emotions. Blending academic framing with striking vulnerability, this talk aims to position Jepsen’s 2015 masterpiece as an essential roadmap for navigating queer heartbreak, anchored intimately by the speaker's own reflections on surviving a gay divorce.

Part listening session, part lecture, A2B is Eaton's ongoing vinyl-sharing series, where guests are invited to speak at length about an important or seminal work in their music-listening experience.
