The Sea Of Change choir won the hearts' of the nation on Ireland’s Got Talent in 2019, where they reached the finals of the show. Since then, they have performed at The National Concert Hall, Dublin Castle, Dublin Mansion House, Áras an Uachtaráin, The Helix, Cork Opera, European Parliament in Brussels, W.H.O. (World Health Organisation) conference in Botswana, to name a few as they continue to inspire and share their love of life through song.
How the Choir Started and raised over €1.25 million to date for childhood cancer charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie www.aoibheannspinktie.ie
The story began when Deirdre Featherstone was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer back in 2012. After treatment Deirdre decided to celebrate by organising a Strip and Dip fundraiser for childhood cancer. It started with 40 ladies in 2013 and in 2018 over 2,505 brave ladies bared all and absolutely smashed the world record. We are all proud Guinness World Record Holders. To date over €1.25m has been raised by these events and our funds have purchased a respite house in Dublin for the families of children going through cancer.
After meeting Director Ian Brabazon in 2018 the dip choir burst into life as part of the Strip and Dip and the choir of dippers became the Sea of Change Choir with an amazing launch on Ireland’s Got Talent. With a golden buzzer performance the choir has never looked back. With Ian’s unique style and this wonderful group of ladies the choir has gone from strength to strength. To date the choir has performed all over Ireland, the European Parliament and as far as Africa with the World Health Organisation.
The choir members are full of fun, hope, and more fun. Most of our choir have been through cancer and a lot of members have lost people close to them to cancer. Since forming they have lost four of their sisters; Annette, Eileen, Therese and Claire. When they sing on stage these girls are with them and everyone else who has passed. They are a lively bunch always smiling and having fun. They go on stage to make sure everyone has a great night with some great performances of inspirational songs to show the world there is life after cancer, showing hope to those going through it and always remembering the people they have lost.
