What began as a temporary collaboration in 2007 has evolved into an unbreakable bond, with four albums and countless compositions for film and theatre, including the BAFTA-winning Lion and Iris. Their cinematic ambient builds on lengthy crescendos, and plays with our expectations. They give their music all the time it needs to unfurl. Wiltzie, now living in Brussels, adds: “I’ve always had a great love of instrumental music that uses both acoustic keyboard instruments and lots of electronics.” Names such as Arvo Pärt, Brian Eno and Gavin Bryars are both points of reference and points of arrival to steer clear of.
