A Wild Night Out at Den of Maidencraig Local Nature Reserve

Join the Countryside Rangers and learn all about the amazing wildlife that we can only see at night!

This is a family friendly event (all under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult).

Over the course of the evening, we will set up sugar and light traps to attract moths, which we will identify and release unharmed. We will also use specialised detectors to listen to the clicks and calls of hunting bats.

Please wear sturdy footwear and dress appropriately for the weather. Please also bring sunglasses to shield your eyes from the bright moth trap light. It is also recommended to apply midge repellent prior to attending this event.
