A Western Sydney Book Club explores books by contemporary authors, with an initial focus on Australian writing.
Monthly conversations about books led by guest authors, for readers in and connected to Western Sydney.

Bilal Hafda will facilitate the conversation about The Flirtation of Girls / Ghazal el-Banat by Sara M Saleh.
Bilal Hafda is the artistic director of the Bankstown Poetry Slam. He's a spoken-word artist who has featured at the Sydney Writers Festival, TEDx Sydney, and most of the poetry slams in NSW. He has published work in a number of literary journals, and is now editing his debut poetry collection. Bilal trained as a high school English teacher, and currently runs creative writing workshops in-person and online all across Australia. He also hosts the Bankstown Poetry Slam (which recently received a Premier's Literary Award - 2023), and is passionate about facilitating and nurturing the voices of the artists who participate in the slams, and the community that attends them.
This event will take place in a safe and welcoming space at Arts & Cultural Exchange.
Light refreshments will be offered.
Please join us from 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Registrations are essential.
