Includes a Grand Promenade, Costume Contest and 7-day Scavenger Hunt beginning the previous Saturday!]---Strictly Ballet, RiverStage Community Theatre and the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership are pleased to announce “A Victorian Fairy Party,” which will be held on Saturday July 24th from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., on the front lawn of the GreenSpace Center, 815 Market St in Lewisburg! A summertime celebration of Victorian sentiment, the Fairy Party is a fundraiser for the 2021 Lewisburg Victorian Nutcracker.
This year’s event will begin at 7:30pm with a Grand Promenade and Costume Contest! Three celebrity judges will award prizes for best fairy and best Victorian apparel, so put on something prim, diaphonous or just plain fun and join in! Dance and musical performances, lawn games and light refreshments will follow, including Victorian standbys like croquet, hoops and hopscotch for children and “a visit from the Green Fairy,” for the adults.
Various refreshments have already been donated to the event by The Lewisburg Hotel, Weis Markets, and others, and other donations to help support the Lewisburg Victorian Nutcracker will be gladly accepted on the lawn. Also, as part of a week-long celebration, beginning July 17, you can take part in this year’s Lewisburg Downtown Scavenger Hunt, in which five (5) Nutcracker character ornaments have been hidden in downtown Lewisburg shops and restaurants! Clues will be posted to @StrictlyBalletArts Instagram account throughout the week. For every one that you find, send them a selfie in a DM on Instagram and you’ll be entered into the drawing for the top prize, a framed and autographed print by Bradley Shoemaker, donated by The Open Door Gallery!
