Detroit, MI — The Preservation of Jazz Monday Night Music Series proudly presents A Tribute to the Great Voices of Jazz on Monday, October 20, 2025, featuring the legendary Ramona Collins at the historic Aretha’s Jazz Café. Known for her rich tone, captivating stage presence, and deep connection to the heart of jazz, Collins will lead the audience on a journey through the timeless music of the world’s greatest jazz vocalists.

This tribute will celebrate iconic voices such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Carmen McRae—women whose artistry shaped the sound of jazz and continue to inspire generations. Ramona Collins, with her extraordinary interpretive power and vocal range, brings these greats to life while adding her own unique artistry to the stage.

Ramona Collins is a jazz vocalist whose career spans decades of breathtaking performances across the Midwest and beyond. Raised in Toledo, Ohio, Collins is celebrated for her ability to blend the classic standards with modern jazz sensibilities, creating a sound that is both timeless and refreshing. She has shared the stage with countless jazz greats and remains a beacon of authenticity in jazz performance. Known as a storyteller as much as a singer, Collins engages her audiences with warmth, humor, and soul.

The Preservation of Jazz Monday Night Music Series Tributes is an ongoing residency at Aretha’s Jazz Café, spotlighting the icons of jazz, soul, and blues through live performance. Each Monday night, audiences experience a full-length concert dedicated to the legends who shaped America’s musical history. Hosted by comedian Mike Bonner and featuring special openers such as Sky Covington, the series combines entertainment, education, and preservation of one of America’s greatest art forms.
