Detroit, MI — The Preservation of Jazz proudly presents A Tribute to the Great Voices of Detroit, an unforgettable evening celebrating the powerhouse vocal tradition that has made Detroit one of the most influential music cities in the world. This special tribute features the dynamic and soulful Mz. Love, whose voice and artistry span generations of sound from the 1970s to the present day.
Taking place on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Aretha’s Jazz Café, this concert honors the legacy of Detroit’s legendary vocalists—past and present—whose voices shaped jazz, soul, R&B, and popular music worldwide. From elegance and emotion to strength and storytelling, Detroit’s singers have always set the standard.
Mz. Love is widely celebrated for her commanding stage presence, original music, and her acclaimed Dionne Warwick Tribute, along with many powerful performances throughout the years both locally and internationally. Her musical journey—by way of Detroit and Japan—brings a global depth and timeless sophistication to every performance. This show marks a soulful kickoff to the first days of summer, infused with heart, heritage, and undeniable Detroit flavor.
The evening will be hosted by Mike Bonner and curated and opened by Sky Covington, visionary and founder of the Preservation of Jazz Monday Night Music Series, continuing her mission to honor musical legacies while uplifting today’s voices.
