For generations, the gentle piano of Vince Guaraldi, that wonderfully imperfect little tree and the unmistakable warmth of A Charlie Brown Christmas have marked the arrival of the holiday season. This December, gather the family and experience that music the way it was meant to be heard: played live by a jazz trio in an intimate room.
On December 17, Spirit Animal welcomes The Duck Soup Trio for A Tribute to A Charlie Brown Christmas and the Music of Vince Guaraldi—an all-ages live concert celebrating the timeless jazz score that became one of America’s most beloved holiday traditions.
The evening is a musical homage to Guaraldi’s unmistakable sound: warm piano, swinging rhythms, beautiful melodies and the sophisticated jazz hiding inside a Christmas special generations of us grew up watching.
Expect the familiar music, the nostalgia and that curious mixture of happiness and melancholy that made A Charlie Brown Christmas endure for more than half a century.
Bring the kids. Bring the grandparents. Bring the person who still thinks the little tree is the best one.

The Duck Soup Trio has made its tribute to A Charlie Brown Christmas and the music of Vince Guaraldi a recurring Southern California holiday tradition, with performances throughout the region, including Palm Springs and sold-out appearances at Campus JAX in Newport Beach.
Pianist Adam Bravo is a Los Angeles-based pianist, keyboardist, musical director and arranger whose credits span jazz, pop, television and film. He has performed or recorded with artists including BTS, The Pussycat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger, Deborah Cox, Louis Cole and Sammy Miller and the Congregation, with additional work for Warner Bros., CBS and Netflix.
Bassist Anthony Shadduck is an accomplished Southern California jazz musician, composer and bandleader whose work ranges from traditional jazz to adventurous improvised music. His recording credits include acoustic, electric and double bass, and his collaborations have included artists such as Nels Cline and numerous members of the Southern California jazz community.
Drummer and percussionist Sam Webster is a versatile Los Angeles musician whose work spans jazz, orchestral performance, film and television. His credits include soundtrack work on Jersey Boys, The Gambler and Gangster Squad, along with performances at venues including Walt Disney Concert Hall and regular appearances with Disney California Adventure’s 1920s jazz ensemble Five & Dime.
Together, the three musicians return to the deceptively sophisticated music of Vince Guaraldi and give this beloved Christmas score the intimate piano-bass-drums treatment at its heart.
The Venue
Spirit Animal, located inside Hotel Zoso in downtown Palm Springs, is Take Five’s premium live entertainment venue—reimagined as a retro-inspired destination for cabaret, music and nightlife.
Featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting, comfortable seating, a full bar and a non-smoking environment, Spirit Animal was built for intimate, high-quality live entertainment experiences.
For this special holiday performance, guests of all ages are welcome. The full bar will be available to guests 21 and over.
