An Art House series highlighting any and all varieties of jazz. Nu, afro, blues, funk, latin, hip hop, old timey… from here there and everywhere, get curious and climb aboard.

Featured Artist: Garrett Warner and Kyle Jordan

Come join two of Ottawa's popular guitar slingers, and Art House regulars, as they play a program of modern jazz guitar featuring originals and choice standards. After years of playing together in different ensembles, the two guitarists make their debut as a duo at Art House on January 17th.

Bios

Garrett Warner and Kyle Jordan are two of Ottawa's most promising and prominent guitarists. In addition to duo formats, the two guitarists have been performing in small and large combos together for a decade. This includes chamber-jazz quartet Side-Eye & Grace, a group with two albums and multiple festival appearances under their belt, which also features the talents of bassist Chris Pond and Erik Johnson-Scherger. The guitar slingers met at Carleton University, where both graduated with a Bachelor of Music under the tutelage of Canadian jazz guitar veteran Roddy Elias. Both guitarists have a busy performance schedule and have been accumulating a plethora of recording credits in both accompanying and leading roles.

Accolades

Kyle and Garrett both have regular residencies at Art House! Kyle runs our Fever Pitch Hot Jazz series, and Garrett runs Metro Jazz.

Tickets: CAD $17 tickets: Eventbrite. (Limited quantity!). If the event has not sold out online, there will be tickets available at the counter.

IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO

We provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps, small landing, and then an 8th step). Once inside, the whole cafe floor is flat, with the exception of our small room to the side, which is a small step down.

We are licensed to provide alcohol, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options.

This event takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
