Join us for a guided workshop by art psychotherapist and visual artist David Elliott!
This 5 hour workshop invites you to connect with your surroundings through exploring place, memory and the present moment in unexpected ways
Together we’ll set off from OVADA on a sensory walk using sight, sound and smell to explore the local landscape through sketches, notes and recordings
Returning to OVADA we will rework these experiences and words into artworks and spontaneous poetry using abstract mark-making, tracing and mapping techniques
Everyone is welcome—just bring your curiosity.
Wrap up warm for the walk! Free tea and coffee, bring a packed lunch
Some materials provided
Who? All welcome; no experience necessary

Please note: in order for this workshop to go ahead, a minimum number of tickets must be sold before Fri 5 December. Please purchase your tickets early to ensure this event takes place!
Materials:
The following will be provided: printed instructions for each activity, some watercolour paper, tracing paper, printed words and plain paper for poetry, glue-sticks, scissors
Please bring the following:
Lunch!
Watercolour or gouache paints
Brushes
Marker pens
Your preferred medium to use during the walk, eg: sketchbook & pencil/sound or video recorder/camera/smartphone
We do have some materials at OVADA, if you do not have any of the above materials then please get in touch and we will do our best to help!
Accessibility: Our workshop space is on the first floor so participants will need to climb stairs. Further accessibility information about our building can be found here
