To see in the new year, we'll be joined by Huss Mitha for a creative writing workshop on the theme of imagining community for the year ahead
About this Event

a Third Place (January) - A new year in community
To see in the new year, we'll be joined by writer and artist Huss Mitha to who will be taking us through some creative writing exercises, affirming and deepening our commitments to our communities, to each other, and to imagining and building the world we want to see.

Community is the antidote to fear so we invite you to join us to imagine how we can show up for ourselves and others in 2025 under the current political climate.

We will use prompts from abolitionist, revolutionary, sci-fi, queer, and anti-colonial fiction and theory - tools for cultivating and sustaining collective agency. We’ll be sharing, discussing and collaging our responses so if writing isn't for you, there will be other ways you can participate!

It will be a relaxed space for people who identify as both LGBT+/Queer and BPoC with a chill out area and dinner provided (vegan/veggie options available).

About Huss

Huss Mitha has a diverse practice that incorporates writing, organising workshops and collective learning platforms, mural making, and collaboration with other artists and community groups. Their debut collection of essays and prose-poetry, Vegetal Soul, was published by Rosie’s Disobedient Press in 2023. In 2024 they produced In Our Lifetime: an anti-imperialist resource available to download as a pdf on Arika's website arika.org.uk
