July’s Line-Up:
- Darius Simpson (@_dariussimpsoon) is a writer, educator, performer, and skilled living room dancer from Akron, Ohio. He received an MFA in Creative Writing-Poetry from Mills College. Darius was a recipient of the 2020 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship, a 2023 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and is the author of Never Catch Me (Button Poetry, 2022). He hopes to inspire that feeling you get that makes you frown and slightly twist up ya face in approval. Darius' poems have appeared in POETRY Magazine, The Adroit Journal, American Poetry Review, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, and others. Darius believes in the dissolution of empire and the total liberation of all oppressed people by any means available. Free the People. Free the Land. Free All Political Prisoners.
- Tawongaishe (@) is an international spoken-word artist and educator, currently residing in the Bay Area. After 18 years of growing and learning in South Africa, she enrolled at and became a citizen of the world ?. This means she has performed on stages in South Africa, Canada, India, the United States, Taiwan, and most recently the UK. Within a short 3 weeks in London, she won the February Genesis Poetry Slam and fell in love with the London Poetry Scene. She also leads a performance poetry workshop in London called “From page to stage: Learn to perform your poetry.”
- Hyphy Healer (@hyphy_healer) is a tarot card reader, plant advocate, certified yogi & wellness coach who will have you embark on a spiritual journey with tarot readings.
