Stories from Stardust with storyteller Frank Salzano, based out of Western North Carolina, is coming to Florida! This event is hosted in collaboration with the FOLC Farm and the Wild Twin Community Folk School.

In honor of Venus’s upcoming retrograde and descent into the Underworld, join us under the stars for a contemporary telling of Layla & Majnun, the classic Sufi folktale popularized by Nizami, the great 12th-century Persian epic poet.

It’s the story that captured the devotional & mystical heart of the Islamic world. It greatly influenced Shakespeare and many famous poets of Eurasia. This tale is like Romeo & Juliet meets the enchanted, animist heart of the indigenous desert soul. It is a return to the Garden of Eden, to the divine power of Eros. It weds together longing, love & grief with mystery, annihilation, and the cosmic heart breaking open.

Join us for this ritual telling & offering to the Evening Star. This one is for the iridescent beauties, for our hummingbird friends as they prepare for their long trek back north and into the great greening.

Bring a little love note to share. It can be a poem, some longing-infused prayer, or a little note of gratitude to a bird or a frog or a plant, or maybe a star, or even a human....
