A Taste of Trinidad

To enjoy Trinidiadian cuisine is to enjoy a true amalgamation of various cuisines from around the globe. The history of Trinidad and waves of immigrants from China, Indian and even Lebanon have melded to create a flavorful, delicious and unique island cuisine found only on Trinidad. Late night staples like doubles with curried chickpeas, a feather light roti and quite possibly one of the most delicious stews ever, callaloo, taste like nothing you've ever tried but you'll be instantly hooked. Expect to see scotch bonnet peppers, curry powders and the ubiquitous "green seasoning" that makes things infinitely more delicious. Shrimp phulowie with tamarind hot sauce are crispy, savory and amazing. Chef Clara Park will demonstrate how to make all of these dishes and finish with guava cheesecake for dessert!
